A vigil in solitarily with the grieving families in Iran

Join us at Central Stage on Saturday, January 24 as we host a cultural gathering in memory of the people who lost their lives in the recent protests in Iran. There will be music, poetry reading, and other cultural exchanges. 

All are welcome to attend, but please note that this event will mostly be in Persian, and English translation is not provided. We appreciate your understanding. 

یاد بود جانهای از دست رفته

زبان را یارای گفتنِ اندوهی نیست که از رنج هم‌وطنان‌مان بر دل نشسته است

دل‌شکسته از این داغ بزرگ، فارغ از هر باور و گرایشی، گرد هم می‌آییم، باشد که این نزدیکی، دردهای‌مان را یکی کند؛

باشد که باری، هرچند اندک، از دوشِ دل‌های سوگوارمان برداشته شود.

دست‌مان کوتاه است و توان‌مان اندک؛

آن‌چه داریم جز مهر نیست—

مهر به دیارمان

مهر به مردم رنج‌کشیده‌مان

و مهر به آیین انسان‌دوستی

شما را چشم در راهیم
